13.09.2011

M.I.Shadov reported on construction of the interactive museum and planetarium Noosphere at a panel discussion on development of tourism and recreation projects which was held on September 13, 2011 as part of the VII Baikal International Economic Forum in Irkutsk.

The Noosphere museum and planetarium is for visitors of all ages and occupations. Huge interactive screens, multimedia systems, modern projectors, and unique displays collected during the expedition Mirs on Baikal allow to visit both the past and the future of Lake Baikal. The information is conveyed through audiovisual sequences which allow visitors to gradually discover the noosphere: the crust (lithosphere), the depths of Lake Baikal (hydrosphere and biosphere), atmosphere and space.

The Noosphere Museum aims to solve a number of crucial tasks: to draw attention to the unique nature of Lake Baikal and need for scientific research of the lake, to promote the study of natural sciences and patriotic education of the youth.

The Vice President of the Fund B.D.Tsyrenov, the Project Manager of Noosphere Museum D.V.Semenov, the Deputy Director of the Fund I.Y.Krylova and the management of Litacom Company took part in the presentation.
