On 18 September, “Baikal battle” - a boxing match for the title of the world champion according to IBO (International Boxing Organization) – took place in the Moscow Martial Arts Centre, located in the complex “Varshavka SKY”. Russian Alexander Bakhtin confirmed the title of the best boxer in the first featherweight (to 55.3 kg).

At the initiative of the organizers of “Baikal battle” all the funds from ticket sales will be donated to the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal for cleaning of the shore of Lake Baikal.

As Chairman of Board of Trustees of the FPLB Mikhail Slipenchuk told, the battle is not accidentally called “Baikal”. Alexander Bakhtin came from Trans-Baikal region, trained and developed as a sportsman in the Republic of Buryatia. And it is symbolic. For the first time athletes defended not only the honor and the world title, but fought for the purity of Lake Baikal.
