FPLB presented a photo exhibition withing the Forum ‘Baikal Dialogue’

On August 21st, 2014 the opening of the photo exhibition “Story of Love for Nature”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the All Russian Society for Nature Protection, took place. Photo exhibition is presented in the framework of the Forum ‘Baikal Dialogue’ with the organizational support of the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal and Group of companies METROPOL. Artistic and report photos that tell the history of the eldest nature preserving organization in Russia were nicely placed at two floors of the Buryat Business Center in Ulan-Ude.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition Head of the Republic of Buryatia Vyacheslav  Nagovytsyn made a speech as well as Chairman of the Board of Trustees the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal and All Russian Society for Nature Protection Mikhail Slipenchuk.

Excursion at the exhibition was guided by Elvira Reutskaya, executive director of Saint Petersburg branch of the Society – it was she who prepared the memorial exhibition together with the colleagues from the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal. Guests and participants to ‘Baikal Dialogue’ Forum – Governor of Zabaikalsky Kray Konstantin Ilkovsky, State Duma deputies, foreign delegation members and others - were present at the opening ceremony.

Opening the exhibition Mikhail Slipenchuk said: ‘I am glad that the jubilee exhibition project devoted to All Russian Society for Nature Protection started in Buryatia and afterwards will run throughout the whole country. This is a proper demonstration of rich history of the organization’.At the opening of the exhibition ‘Story of Love For Nature’ its concept author Elvira Reutskaya pointed out: ‘Photo exhibition in the honour of All Russian Society for Nature Prorection 90th anniversary – is a special event. We have gathered the archive materials from all the branches of our Society for its long history – starting from Soviet years and up to nowadays events. We held a competition choosing best photos. It is great to realize that for so many years the idea of preserving nature has been uniting so many people throughout Russia, each of them with his own life story. So the name for our exhibition was born quite naturally – ‘Story of Love for Nature’. Combination of report and artistic photos unites our past and present, reflects unique image of Nature and the place for a human being in it’.

The exhibition ‘Story of Love for Nature’ will be demonstrated at the most important business and cultural events in Russia in the sphere of ecology.

Exposition that was prepared by the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal (curator – deputy director of the Fund Inna Krylova) that is spread in the premises of Buryat Business Center further will be passed to the Museum Of Nature of Buryatia.

The closing amended exposition is planned to open at the festivities on the occasion of All Russian Society for Nature Ptotection 90th anniversary in Moscow on November 28th, 2014.
