Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal held presentations at “Expolangue” Forum

On February 2 and 3, 2012 the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal represented the scientific results of the expedition Mirs at Baikal and the community Semeyskie, masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. This event took place within the framework of the exhibition Expolangues 2012 in Paris at the Russian stand and conference room for guests and participants of the Forum.

The deputy director of the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal Inna Krylova spoke about the expedition research and experiment of the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal and the Russian Federal Space Agency in July 2010 on Lake Baikal, and also about the culture and traditions of the Baikal Old Believers, called Semeyskie, declared a UNESCO World Heritage in 2004.

The film of the Russian Federal Space Agency about the photospectral shooting from the space station was demonstrated on a huge screen for the first time. Also for the first time an original costume of Semeiskie was represented at the Forum.

The presentations were welcomed; by the end of the speech I. Krylova answered numerous questions of the stand visitors. Moreover, on February 4 the Fund held a thematic quiz for the pupils of the children association Aprelik, the winners were awarded by a toy-talisman of the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal.
