Head of the project “Noosfera” of the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal Dmitry Semenov announced that the preliminary testing of the dome for the astronomic observatory is finishing in Novosibirsk. This observatory is a part of the Irkutsk planetarium.
The diameter of the dome at the tower base - 4.2 m, height - 2,5 m, weight - 1.5 . The rotatory dome consists of metal; the outside is covered by galvanized steel.
The dome will be delivered to Irkutsk in late February - early March.
